14 years working on the hills , constructing, managing and solving many access problems on the high peaks . A keen environmentalist, Angus has helped develop the effective but low key approach needed in dealing with erosion in some of the most fragile areas of  the Cairngorms, were  "over the top" approachs of  more typical types of pathwork would not be welcome.

 Matt McConway, Director:-

matt.mcconway@uplandaccess.co.uk

Matt  has worked on the hills  for 10 years, and has shared responsibilities with Angus, for taking a project from conception through to completion. Like Angus, Matt leads his team from 'the front' and has been responsible for training many pathworkers to a very high standard.

 the crew:-

All the crew who work in this career, short term or longer, are motivated by wanting to help the environment and conserve the  countryside against the onslaught of people power. In fact, most are keen hillwakers , rock climbers, mountain bikers, or mountaineers, who realise the damage that erosion can do, and so want  to do something about the problem.

They have a great committment to the job and have a passion for the outdoors. You have to be committed to survive all that our great weather can throw at us, especially stuck up a hill in the middle of January. The hills are in a much better place for their efforts, and that is something they can be proud of.!!!
